Job Description

General Summary Of Duties:

Attend TM’s that picks up clean uniforms and turn in dirty uniforms by scanning each uniform. Scan all incoming received clean uniforms from the cleaners and place them in each assigned Slot numbers. All stock garments must be placed in the inventory conveyor. Scan all outgoing dirty uniforms to be sent out to the cleaners. Retrieve uniforms to be issued to TM’s.

All Uniform Room Attendants must provide good customer service to each TM’s.

 

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

  • Retrieve uniforms to be issued to TM’s; stock incoming clean uniforms to be issued at a future date; assist with repairs and send out uniforms to be dry cleaned/laundered by scanning all uniforms. Must be able to stand the duration of the shift; able to lift minimum of 25 lbs.; includes reaching and bending and a lot of walking from conveyor to the other. Replace old barcodes/labels of each uniform. Barcode and label uniforms including received new uniforms. Must be able to assist the Seamstress for fitting if needed. Must be able to work various shifts.
  • For Dual Attendant/Seamer; you must have the ability to sit and work 90 percent of your shift working as Seamer. Ability to operate all professional, single and double stitch sewing machines maintained in the Uniform Room for professionally altering, hemming and repairing all uniforms in satisfactory manner. Responsible in fitting new hire TM’s and other uniformed TM’s including salaried TM’s and doing alteration for new uniforms and other uniform garments that needs to be repaired.

 

 

Qualifications

Experience  Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year experience un a Uniform Room and/or dry-cleaning operations required. Minimum 2 years clerical experience to include computer skills – Word and excel needed.
  • Basic sewing is required.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma of GED equivalent. Preferably graduated from a professional sewing school.
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Ability to understand verbal English to comprehend basic employee requests. Ability to understand written English to read any caution or safety notices.
  • Ability to understand verbal English sufficient to understand verbal job requests from Manager and TM’s
  • Basic Mathematical skills necessary to operate tape measure and to stock uniforms and inventory.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job functions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects.
  • Ability to perform duties within temperature ranges.
  • Ability to provide strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Typical physical / mental demands:

  • Ability to grasp, bend, stoop, reach, lift and/ or carry, or otherwise, move uniforms by hand weighing a maximum of 20 lbs on a continuous basis and move uniforms on a racks weighing maximum of 200 pounds on an intermittent basis.
  • Ability to walk/stand and work 90 percent of shift walking a maximum of one mile.
  • Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of shift.
  • Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards.
  • Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.
  • Check station before, during and after shift for proper set – up and cleanliness.
