Primary Function

The primary function of the Territory Business Representative is to increase territory sales in fuel and services by generating new customers, executing strategic sales plan, and nurturing existing relationships. This territory covers Western New York. Southern Tier New York, and Western Pennsylvania.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Represent Reid Petroleum in a professional manner at all times; establishing and maintaining trust-based relationships with all customers, prospects, and employees of Reid Petroleum Inc.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets by generating new wholesale and retail motor fuel customers within assigned territory.
  • Close new sales leads by visiting all potential prospects for fuel and services, following up on initial meetings promptly, gathering marketing and competitive intel, providing and negotiating supply and service offers and contracts and following through on all interactions.
  • Increase sales at retail locations by identifying and closing on fleet customers, providing a proprietary fleet card program that tracks fleet while using our retail locations as fueling location.
  • Build and maintain sales territory by fostering key relationships with current customers and prospects, analyzing sales trends, and tending to current customers service and fuel needs.
  • Ability to help handle day to day customer needs by curing mystery shops, supporting branding initiatives, assisting with supply orders, etc.
  • Demonstrate, sell and grow Reid’s environmental services in conjunction with Environmental department by proposing agreements to current customers and prospective customers within assigned territory.
  • Utilize company CRM system to capture customer and prospective data, contact information, activity log, competitive information, grade and tank capacities, sales targets, and campaigns.
  • Stay informed on current industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions, reporting and documenting on a regular basis to Director of Sales for opportunities and threats.
  • Monitor all customer contracts, proactively renewing or ending contracts based on the company’s best interests.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of products and services, reducing noise on Director of Sales.
  • Other territory duties as assigned by Director of Sales.

Compensation & Bonus

  • $62,000-$70,000 base salary dependent on experience, up to $10,000 annual bonus + quarterly and annual commission
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of prior sales or business development experience with proven track record of B2B sales preferably within the energy, construction, petroleum, CPG, convenience, or environmental services industry.
  • General understanding or willingness to learn petroleum marketing concepts, fuel supply, environmental regulations, fuel logistics, and branding services.
  • Concise communication skills and ability to analytically think and problem solve
  • Results-oriented with a focus on exceeding targets
  • Alignment in Reid Petroleum Corp.’s focus on having a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship management, and negotiation abilities
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License that meets company policy
