Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, recruiting, company communications, time and attendance, and payroll functions. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who can relate to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Maintains all employee and applicant documentation as dictated by governing agencies.
  2. Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action.
  3. Assists with recruitment tasks as needed (reviews applications, interviews, etc.)
  4. Assists with onboarding and new hire orientation.
  5. Acts as an employee relations specialist.
  6. Weekly payroll through ADP.
  7. Manages temp to hire program.
  8. Monitors tardy and absenteeism report and ensures proper documentation is issued in accordance with the attendance policy.
  9. Tracks vacation, personal days, FMLA and other time off requests.
  10. Maintains, updates and distributes the employee phone list.
  11. Maintains employee database and personnel files.
  12. Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits I-9 Forms.
  13. Maintains and updates job descriptions.
  14. Assists in the administration of health and welfare plans.
  15. Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner.
  16. Maintain and update training matrix.
  17. Handles the community and employee activities.
  18. Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  19. Provide administrative support.
  20. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

  1. Associates Degree in related field & 3 plus years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
  2. Experience in the administration of payroll and other human resource programs.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Human resource experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  2. Three to five years of HR generalist experience
  3. PHR/SPHR certification
