Are you a very experienced mental health worker looking for an opportunity for advancement in your career?


New Communities is seeking a talented mental health technician professional to serve as a Team Leader/Supervisor for our mental health adult PNMI program supporting aging adults with mental health challenges. This full-time leadership position has limited general oversight responsibilities for 4 residents, supervisory responsibilities of 10 full-time direct care Mental Health Rehabilitation Technicians (MHRT-I) and provides personal and general assistance to residents. The Team Leader position is located at our Marston Street Group Home location in Norway, Maine and is regularly scheduled Monday - Friday 7:00a-3:00p but at times, program needs would require flexibility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising the direct care team and managing employee performance issues with support from the Regional Program Manager.
  • Coordinating safe staffing schedules for adequate facility coverage.
  • Assisting residents with their individual service plan (ISP) goals/objectives, personal care and other assigned needs to improve resident quality of life and promote community living.
  • Providing assistance and support to residents and staff in the event of a crisis situation.
  • Providing oversight of all medication administration practices and procedures.
  • Facilitating admission/discharge of residents, maintaining resident clinical records and facilitating quarterly ISP reviews.
  • Working closely with legal guardians and approved outside agencies to ensure the provision of quality services for all residents.

The Team Leader/Supervisor position requires flexibility and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks with varying deadlines. Strong organizational, written, and interpersonal communication as well as basic supervisory skills are essential. Providing after-hours on-call supervision to Mental Health Rehabilitation Technicians (MHRT I) on a regular rotation is required.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid Maine driver’s license is required.
  • MHRT-1 certification and current CRMA certificate with 3-5 years’ experience OR Associate's or Bachelor's degree in human services or related field with MHRT-C Certification is required
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English.
