Description

The landscape maintenance technician role withing Real Estate Operations has the responsibility for routine landscape maintenance, light building maintenance/carpentry repairs, and light cleaning. The primary focus of this role will be to maintain grass, trees, shrubbery, and ground surface covers.

In this role you will respond to colleague and business requested work orders and have a routine schedule of work orders to complete.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform groundskeeping and building maintenance duties as required
  • Mow lawns either by hand or using a riding lawnmower
  • Landscape by planting, trimming, and maintaining flowers, grass, shrubs, bushes, and small trees.
  • Shovel snow from walkways and apply traction as needed
  • Clean parking lots, sidewalks, and all exterior areas while performing routine groundskeeping
  • Perform spring and fall cleanups to remove excess debris, leaves, and trim landscaping
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping
  • Install new hardscaping, river rock, fencing, signage, and other furnishings as required
  • Pressure wash building exterior and refresh parking lot painting as needed
  • Clean gutters and roof drains of debris
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency service requests and prioritize work order response
  • Refer work to vendors if necessary, via work order system
  • Closing out work orders upon completion; via iPad or Computerized Maintenance Management System
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, tools and materials and purchasing supplies at the best available price
  • Communicate in a pleasant and professional manner with internal and external customers
  • Ensure all tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained and utilized in a safe manner consistent with established standards

Qualifications:

  • 2 or more years of experience in commercial landscape maintenance
  • Experience driving larger vehicles such as box trucks & pickup trucks with trailers 
  • Proven customer service experience and/or abilities
  • Competent use of MS Office applications to include MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with efficiency and accuracy
  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather to complete jobs safely
  • Proven track record to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks to assure successful timely completion of all
  • Comfortable working at heights (ladders, roof top, etc)

Education, Certifications, and/or Professional Credentials:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Drivers License, required

Hours & Work Schedule:

  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday with some weekend or overtime
