Dolce is now seeking a Catering Sales Manager to join our team at Dolce Ivey Spencer Canada in London, Ontario.

**Job Summary**

The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for effectively selling room nights, public spaces, food & beverage and function planning services, focusing on social events, including weddings, and maximizing revenues and profits of the hotel.

**Education & Experience**

* Previous experience in sales/planning in a high volume operation preferred

* Diploma or Degree in Hospitality or a related field of study preferred.

* Previous experience with FDC or another client relationship management system preferred.

* Previous experience with meeting packages preferred.

* Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is an asset

**Physical Requirements**

* Long hours sometimes required.

* Periodic travel is required

* Weekends, holidays & evening hours are required, as needed.

* Must be able to sit at a desk for up to 8 hours per day. Walking and standing are required the rest of the working day. Frequently is required to talk or hear.

* Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis.

* Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. occasionally.

* Maintain a knowledge base on market, positioning of hotel, amenities and brand. Understand booking patterns, trends, high demand times, and events in the market.

* Research and identify new business opportunities for the hotel including staying abreast of local events.

* Pursue all appropriate opportunities for customer solicitation and relationship building; including creative networking, uncovering and cold calling prospective clients to generate activity for future business.

* Work closely with operational teams to ensure clients needs are exceeded.

* Maintain proper business records pertaining to sales/clients in FDC catering system

* Actively participate in departmental resume meetings

* Effectively plan and communicate to all departments the expressed need of the customer

* Ensure that all appropriate communication for upcoming business is complete and distributed in a timely manner to the management team.

* Write and present effective Banquet Event Orders and Change Logs

* Assign banquet/meeting rooms based on the needs of clients

* Plan and conduct pre & post event meetings with clients and applicable departments

* Respond to all correspondence to clients; greet guests during events; conduct site visits

* Collect deposits in a timely manner ensuring full payments are received prior to the event

* Assists social groups on the day of the event, as needed.

* Collect data to accurately portray weekly pace reports for weddings and catering revenue

* Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards

* Maintain confidentiality and security of specified hotel information, correspondence, reports and files

* Event Concierge and Manager on Duty duties

* Other duties as assigned
