Special Education Teacher - Illinois

We are looking for an experienced and passionate full-time Special Education Teacher to join our team at a high school in the Illinois area. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing pre-vocational and transitional instruction and support to students with significant intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

Responsibilities:

- Provide instruction and support to a caseload of 8-12 students with significant intellectual and/or physical disabilities
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student and ensure that they are followed
- Actively participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and other meetings related to student success and outes
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure continuity of instruction and a positive learning environment
- Utilize appropriate and effective instructional methods and tools to address individual student needs
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly

Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree in Special Education (or related field)
- Valid Illinois teaching license in Special Education
- Experience working with students with significant intellectual and/or physical disabilities
- Knowledge of current evidence-based practices in Special Education
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Excellent munication and organizational skills

Hours: 7:45am-3:20pm
