Position Overview

Vantage is looking for an intrinsically motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Developer who will deliver automated reporting via Power BI to the North American Operations team. The BI developer will deliver metrics, reports, dashboards, Key Performance Indicators, forecasts, and models to evaluate business processes and measure operations performance in North America. They will collaborate with partners to drive consistency and economies and support users to become proficient in creating and maintaining analytics. They are responsible for assuring quality and accuracy of reporting outputs. They will look at resulting business and operational outputs, extracting meaningful insights with critical thinking.

Essential Job Functions

  • Design, deploy, and manage visualization of reports, Key Performance Indicators and metrics via PowerBI

  • Work with department leaders to establish Key Performance Indicators, reports, and dashboards that present useful data

  • Create and maintain data collection plans to include acquisition, transformation, calculation, aggregation, data flow, data dictionary and presentation

  • Serve as a PowerBI, visualization, and dashboarding expert

  • Define and document standard processes for self-service reporting

  • Perform QA and data validation of reporting and data analytics

  • Engineer data models and pipelines, help establish and support standard frameworks

Duties

  • Gather and document user requirements and identify new features; translate business/user requirements into data collection plans and visualization design

  • Translate and communicate business and operational results, present findings in clearly understood views that can by dynamically stratified, aggregated, grouped, filtered and sorted by users

  • Analyze and troubleshoot query and visualization performance, provide problem resolution end-to-end

  • Develop, maintain, and govern security procedures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized use

  • QA data - standardize, consolidate, aggregate and enrich reports, data, and measures

  • Build and maintain Data Models to capture information from various sources

  • Design visualization standards using Statistical Process Control methods

  • Engineer data pipelines for automated reporting

  • Continually adjust, augment, and improve reporting and data visualization technologies based on changing needs and improved performance

  • Isolate data errors and integrity issues, troubleshoot and locate root cause

  • Additional duties as assigned by management to meet departmental objectives and customer requirements

  • Communicate regularly with management on issues, constraints, and project status

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Technology, or equivalent years of related work experience

  • 5 years of experience in Business Intelligence or Analytics

  • Savvy and proficient in Visual analytics tools, specifically Power BI, Power Query

  • Highly dedicated and execution-focused to deliver results and rapidly cover a considerable amount of demand on data presentation

  • Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts, relational database design and data modeling

  • Skilled at detailed data analysis and mapping

  • Experience in writing sophisticated SQL queries, query optimization, debugging, user defined functions, views, indexes etc.

  • Experience in SSIS, RLS

  • Experienced at creating and maintaining quality documentation - requirements and design

  • Meticulous attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and strong sense of ownership

  • Excellent listening and communication skills to gather and synthesize reporting requirements and drive consensus on standard visualizations

  • Capability to mentor and deliver training on tools

  • Proficient in MS Office suite

  • Effective personal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to impact others and drive new capabilities

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, growth environment and balance multiple projects and tasks daily

  • Knowledge with source control systems such as Git, Bitbucket, etc.

  • Travel required is expected to be less than 5%

Additional Details:

  • Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
