Material Handler

Staffmark is currently seeking Material Handlers in Elk Grove Village, IL, to join a company that specializes in printing. As a Material Handler, you'll play a key role in ensuring smooth operations by efficiently handling materials throughout the production process. Pay Rate: $18.34 per hour.

Shifts Available: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm or 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. Rotating schedule.

As a Material Handler, your responsibilities will include removing folded signatures from the web press and organizing them onto pallets or skids for transportation to the warehouse or binding areas. You'll also be adjusting stacking mechanisms on the press according to paper dimensions, as well as loading and unloading materials onto or from pallets, carts, and trays. Transporting materials from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, or other devices is another crucial aspect of the role. Additionally, you'll be recording the number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheets and attaching identifying tags or labels to materials or marking information on containers. Keeping the manufacturing floor clean and clear of obstructions, as well as recycling or processing waste into various containers to maximize the waste stream, are essential tasks. You'll also assist the Press Crew with equipment make-ready tasks such as retrieving plates, hanging plates, storing plates, and performing in-process quality checks of printed materials for defects. Furthermore, you'll assist in inventory control of raw materials, finished goods, and dies.

Requirements:

• Ability to work 12-hour shifts.
• Availability to work weekends.
• Wear steel-toed safety shoes, earplugs, and safety goggles as required.
• Previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
