DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Facility Safety Manager at Warren State Hospital, you will oversee an effective safety program to include accident investigation, analysis, and prevention, as well as develop processes to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. In this role, you will be responsible for a full range of supervisory duties for the Security Department and the Fire Marshal. In addition, functional supervision may be provided to other employees involved in the safety program not directly assigned to the Safety Department.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 1st shift (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM), Monday - Friday, with 30-minute (12:00 pm to 12:30 pm) lunch.
  • Overtime: As needed
  • Travel: As needed

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year of professional experience in an organized accident prevention, fire prevention, environmental safety, or security program, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
  • You must obtain and maintain a Lead Renovator Certification upon hire.
  • You must obtain and maintain an Asbestos Supervisor and Building Inspector Certification upon hire.

Other Requirements:
  • This particular position requires possession of a valid Class C non-commercial driver's license.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow the link and click on Residency.
  • You must obtain and maintain instructor certification in our current crisis intervention model upon being hired.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require satisfactory completion of a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
