Senior Planning Yard Support Analyst

Sayres Defense is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Planning Yard Support Analyst with Secret Clearance located in Bath, ME. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, adequacy, and effectiveness of planning yard activities for the Navy Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP). Your primary duties will include:

• Reviewing planning yard activities, written design, and engineering documents such as Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs) and Ship Change Documents (SCDs) to ensure compliance with contract requirements in terms of cost, quality, and schedule.
• Identifying inadequacies in contractor obligation plans and requesting corrective action as necessary.
• Utilizing statistical methods for data computation, summarization, and report/chart creation to investigate and explain causes of customer complaints and deficiencies to relevant authorities.
• Facilitating effective communication between SUPSHIP and contractors, conveying sponsor needs for alteration schedules, material procurement, and technical data application.
• Collaborating with government contracting personnel for processing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Production Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs).
• Liaising with Navy SUPSHIP, conducting ship checks, analyzing technical documents, and furnishing project updates.
• Collating and interpreting data for weekly status summaries and metrics for diverse waterfront production projects.
• Providing comprehensive support for ship milestone events, including physical progress tracking, quality assessments, trial card management, Crew Move Aboard facilitation, Sail away assistance, and detailed scheduling for successful trials, delivery, crew integration, and waterfront production.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, preferred or equivalent experience.
• 10 Years previous experience working with Navy SUPSHIP or similar organizations preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with surface ship design and construction operations.
• Knowledge of ship delivery processes.
• Knowledge of naval shipbuilding processes
• Experience with integration testing and trials, including deficiency management, corrective action tracking, and engineering change management processes.
