Job Coach - 1117


Summary: The Job Coach VR (Vocational Rehabilitation) (full or part-time) helps our job-seeking clients in preparing for and succeeding in the workplace. Job Coaches are responsible for assessing and evaluating barriers and challenges with individuals seeking employment opportunities. This includes working on life skills, developing work-related leads, transporting clients, coaching, teaching, and mentoring them as they learn skills for increased independence and successful employment. Job Coaches also assist with interviews, applications, and resume creation.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Highly organized with time and data

  • Current and active driver’s license

  • Ability to obtain sponsored CPR/First Aid Certifications with 90 days of employment

  • Shows compassion, flexibility, patience, positive attitude and provides excellent care

  • 6 months experience mentoring, coaching, and/or teaching.

  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to transport clients

  • Ability to complete company-sponsored Workplace Supports Training within 90 days


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with mentoring or coaching or teaching

  • 1 year or more experience working with people with disabilities.


Responsibilities

  • Promotes a positive work environment.

  • Develops and utilizes appropriate instructional strategies to teach work tasks (instructional prompts, compensatory strategies, etc.).

  • Helps the client fulfill job duties, including verbal prompts and redirection, as needed.

  • Communicate and advocate for client needs including any needed ADA accommodations

  • Transportation as needed.

  • Ensures the client follows all employer regulations and properly clocks in and out of each shift

  • Facilitates communication between and on behalf of employees and employers.

  • Support strategies assist clients in growing in roles and/or their capabilities to succeed independently.

  • Assist clients with initial and ongoing job training requirements

  • Assist clients to socially integrate into employment settings, and company culture and establish an internal support structure

  • Maintain accurate daily documentation on the client’s progress through ASE software or other software as approved by your supervisor.

  • Clocking in and out as appropriate for each shift.

  • Dresses professionally at all times conforming to the client's work location policies and needs

  • Is flexible and comfortable with a wide variety of skill sets and client abilities and mannerisms

  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking.

  • Has the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, use mechanical lifts where required, and transfer individuals correctly

  • Physical requirements may vary depending upon the client you serve and the location they are employed
