Justice Court Clerk

The Lake County Justice Court is seeking a Clerk to join our team!

This position is entry-level and involves performing administrative support functions within the Justice Court setting. The right applicant will possess general knowledge of legal office practices and procedures, court services and regulations; however, the right person will develop a more complete understanding from day-to-day work performed in Justice Court. Standard administrative duties include general office administrative tasks, record keeping, solid grasp of legal terminology and excellent communication (oral and written) experience are all desired qualities to bring to this position.

Must have the ability to understand and apply specific rules, codes, regulations and procedures; perform detailed office support work; organize and maintain accurate files and records; build and maintain effective working relationships with court personnel and with those having business with the court; computer proficient and accurately type at a rate sufficient to perform assigned duties.

Ability to pass a background investigation and to qualify for and maintain CJIN certification.

This position work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. All Federal holidays are paid holidays.
