Read and interpret drawings and can fabricate and weld metal components to the written specifications. Applies appropriate welding techniques to produce quality welds.
Willing to obtain welding certifications if required for the job. Basic understanding and the safe use of hand tools and powered hand tools.
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to read and interpret fabrication drawings In English
- TIG welding is about 90% and MIG welding is about 10%. Material is as thin as .050 thickness.
- Must have the ability to operate manual and auto wire feed welders to produce quality crack and crevice free welds utilizing the appropriate welding wire, heat, arc, speed, depth, and bead size of weld for the weld requirement.
- Must have the ability to accurately weld fabricated components of stainless steel and perform welds in all positions.
- Must be capable of obtaining certified welding certificates for a variety of AWS standards if required. (Or provide a record of previous certification)
- Be able to take instruction from the Production Manager to resolve issues.
- Must have the ability to respond quickly to priority changes and work well under pressure due to scheduling constraints,
- Must have the ability to produce quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ability to safely lift to 50 lbs.
Required:
- HS diploma. (two-year college or technical school is ideal)
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing welding with stainless steel materials.
- TIG welding is about 90% and MIG welding is about 10%. Material is as thin as .050 thickness.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence in English. (Bilingual would be an advantage).
- Must be able to work with shop math. Add, subtract, multiply & divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
