About the Role

This position is charged with assisting the Metrologist with installation, calibration and maintenance of facility and processing instrumentation and controls. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Tests, calibrates, and repairs mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments and equipment for conformance to established specifications.
  • Responsible for following and enforcing all aspects of the Calibration Control System SOP
  • Responsible for determining monthly calibration schedules and ensuring all calibrations are completed within the designated period.
  • Responsible for maintaining current inventory lists, status, and history of calibrated equipment within the Calibration Control System Database.
  • Responsible for review of appropriate calibration records and documents.
  • Responsible for scheduling, shipping, receiving, reviewing calibration certificates, and communicating with calibration service providers in order to maintain traceability of all calibration standards.
  • Assists in the research and development of new Calibration Methods including selection and implementation of new calibration standards.
  • Assists in evaluation of calibration requirements and development of Calibration Specifications.
  • Assists in equipment service and response to measuring equipment issues to support Manufacturing operations.
  • Assist Metrologist in development of Calibration Control System improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Education:

  • Associate degree in electronics, instrumentation or related field, military or field experience equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in calibration of electronic and mechanical process measurement instruments or military equivalent or combination.

Minimum Field of Expertise:

  • Operation of sophisticated electronic and mechanical measuring equipment.
  • Skill in calculating and interpreting data correctly.
  • Knowledge of calibration methods.
  • Math, writing and technical reading ability.
  • Knowledge of computers and skill in operating computer programs.
  • Documentation experience in maintaining computer programs.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance skills.
  • Troubleshooting ability.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate with others.
