Superintendent of Sonoma Charter School
Sonoma Charter School is seeking a Superintendent | Director to join an extraordinary team. Celebrating three decades of innovative programs integrated with visual/performing arts and whole-child education practices. Founded in 1993, Sonoma Charter School is a K-8 charter school located in California’s beautiful Sonoma Valley. It is truly an extraordinary place of learning, with a talented staff provides each student an education with high academic standards.

Compensation: $130,000 - 160,000 per year

About the Opportunity:
· The Superintendent for Sonoma Charter School will serve 220 students in grades including transitional kindergarten through eighth grade.
· The Superintendent will lead with an empowering style, be an excellent communicator, and have knowledge of charter schools and budgeting.
· The Superintendent will promote accountability throughout the educational organization. They must have a strong sense of self, that naturally encourages students to reach their full potential and embrace their individuality.
· The Superintendent is the instructional leader responsible for the daily operation of the school, which includes oversight of special education, operations, budget, and other administrative functions.
· The Superintendent serves as the educational leader and chief executive of the charter school; and is responsible for the direction of the instructional program, operation of the school plant, participation in staff and student activities, working with the Board, and exercising leadership in the community.
Requirements / Qualifications
· Valid California Administrative Services Credential and California Teaching Credential or
eligibility for proper authorization from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
· Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree is preferred
· Prior principal and/or district office experience highly preferred.
· Is familiar with charter schools and charter school law a plus.
· Experience with board operations and Brown Act.
· Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
