Who are we looking for?
Children's House of Columbia is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Montessori teacher to join our team as a Head Montessori Pre-K Teacher. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a classroom of young children ranging from 3-6 years old, guiding them through their formative years and laying the foundations for future academic success. Our ideal candidate will be a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic individual who has the ability to establish a solid rapport with students, co-teachers, administrators, and parents. Pay is based on performance and raises are given based on performance evaluations.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Montessori curriculum tailored to the unique needs and interests of Pre-K students.
  • Create a warm and inviting classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence.
  • Plan and facilitate engaging learning activities that promote the development of cognitive, social, and emotional skills.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students as they progress through the Montessori materials and activities.
  • Foster a sense of community and cooperation among students, encouraging respect and empathy for others.
  • Collaborate with parents to support each child's learning and development, providing regular updates and feedback on their progress.
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring the well-being of all students at all times.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Education, or a related field.
  • AMI or AMS Montessori teaching certification (preferred, not required).
  • Previous experience working as a teacher, particularly in a Pre-K or early childhood setting.
  • Deep understanding of child development principles and interest to learn more about integrating the Montessori philosophy into the classroom and daily learning
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
