Burn Table Operator

Ocala, Florida

Job Summary
As a Burn Table Operator, you will cut material according to an engineering blueprint using plasma burn table equipment. In addition to preparing orders according to build specifications, a Burn Table Operator is also responsible for the proper set-up, communication with proceeding shifts and monitoring burn table equipment. 

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints on job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Loads equipment with product using the overhead crane in order to prepare the equipment for an accurate cut.
• Prepares equipment to cut material by selecting appropriate program on the computer according to engineering specifications.
• Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
• Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Removes all materials from the burn table after cutting and handles it according to router instructions.
• Performs preventive maintenance as needed including (but not limited to) wiping down torches and equipment.
• Completes assigned duties in accordance with safety policies and practices with regards to individual safety, the safety of other employees, and the safe use of equipment in the workplace. Wear approved personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor, lead person or management.

Basic Qualifications
• Math, measuring, and mechanical skills are essential. 
• Ability to use common precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers)
• Must be capable of operating manual machining equipment, cranes, and forklifts.           

Key Competencies
Absolute KEY skills needed for role
• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Machine operation experience in manufacturing setting.
• Training/experience on Burn Table or other Oxy or Plasma cutting machines is beneficial.
