Summary:
ProCare's Educational Department seeks a dedicated and compassionate School Guidance Counselor to join our school system in Mt. Carroll, illinoisfor the 2023-2024 school year. Ideal candidates will play a crucial role in positively impacting the lives of our students by providing direction and guidance. Collaborative efforts with teachers and parents is necessary in order to create individualized plans for the overall well-being of our students academic planning. Students often face a wide range of challenges. Guidance Counselors help overcome obstacles that may inhibit their learning through a trusting, confidential, and problem solving approach. Responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate students' abilities and interests through aptitude assessments, interviews, and individual planning
  • Identify issues affecting school performances, such as poor attendance
  • Help students create academic achievement strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents to help achieve student potential
  • Maintain records as required
  • Report possible causes of neglect or abuse and provide resource information for additional support
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, teachers, administration, etc.
  • Ability to provide support and counsel to ensure social, emotional, and academic growth


Job Description

  • Onsite only
  • Caseload: High School


Requirements Necessary for Consideration:

  • Bachelors or Master's level in Counseling, Psychology, Education, or related field.
  • State certification/licensure
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check
  • Previous Experience in school setting preferable but not required.


Pay & Benefits:

  • $35-47 hourly pay
  • Weekly direct deposit.

  • Dedicated support from ProCare Therapy throughout your contract assignment


Interview Process:

  • 10-15 minute screening call with a ProCare Recruiter
  • 20-30 minute virtual/in-person interview with school district
  • Comprehensive Background Check
  • Offer is typically within 24 hours of virtual interview.

As a ProCare employee, you will be paid on a weekly basis through direct deposit. Your hourly rate will be dependent upon your experience and education level and state.
