is currently seeking a **Senior Inventory Manager** to join our Portfolio Management team at our corporate offices in **Dallas, Texas!**
The Senior Inventory Manager will be responsible for all aspects of managing the inventory for the Trinity owned and leased fleet.
**What you'll do:**
* Collaborate closely with the Portfolio Management team as the Subject Matter Expert on Sourcing Equipment for New Lease Quotes and Orders to ensure we meet the customer equipment requirements
* Develop and Execute the Service Ready Strategies for the Owned/Managed Fleet of 140,000 Railcars
* Lead the Re-Deployment Strategy on all Lease Terminations
* Provide cross-functional leadership to ensure a Comprehensive Equipment Availability Report is issued to key business stakeholders in an accurate and timely manner
* Lead the Monthly and Quarterly Internal Audit process as the inventory Subject Matter Expert to approve the reported monthly fleet utilization metrics
* Take a leadership role in developing new processes and systems to allow the Commercial Team real-time visibility to equipment availabilityThis position requires an individual with a high degree of technical and analytical skills based on the complexities of the fleet, including equipment that transports hazardous commodities. The individual must be able to take a leadership role in cross-functional initiatives that impact both the customer and our shareholders
**Key Responsibilities:**
*Inventory Management*
* Provide leadership as the subject matter expert to the Portfolio Managers to ensure the proper equipment is selected for our customer commodity requirements
* Ensure the Inventory Reporting Requirements of the Business Stakeholders Are Documented and Execute Actions Required to Meet the Needs
* Work with the Commercial, Portfolio Management, and Operations Teams to Ensure We Document and execute the appropriate Service Ready Strategy by Car Type
* Issue Bi-Weekly Report on Service Ready Projects
* Develop and Implement an Audit Process to Ensure Service Ready Status of Available Equipment is Accurate
*Terminations*
* Provide leadership to the Commercial and Portfolio Teams regarding the re-deployment strategy of cars terminating from lease
* Manage the Weekly Termination Meetings:
* Issue Terminations Report with Key Lease Attributes to Key Stakeholders
* Review Terminations at Weekly Meeting and Gain Consensus on Service Ready Strategy
* Update Termination Notes and Update RF1
* Take a leadership role with the Maintenance Operations team to ensure all terminations are serviced to the net designated commodity / scope of work
*Monthly and Quarterly Inventory Audit*
* Approve the month-end reported utilization
* Ensure All Committed Cars Are Accurate
* Complete a Reconciliation of Cars on Gap Rider to the Available Equipment Report
* Review all cars in inventory to ensure we have last location on all equipment
* Identify root causes and remediate issue as required
*Continuous Improvement*
* Participate on Projects Related to Process and System Improvements to continue to improve the internal and external customer experience related to the owned and managed fleet
**Qualifications**
**What you'll need**
* Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain required (MBA is a plus)
* 5+ years of Railcar Leasing Experience (experience in Data Analytics a plus)
* Strong Leadership and Analytical Skills
* Ability to Lead Cross-Functional Teams
* Excellent Communication skills

* Advanced computer literacy skills
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly grasp complex data sets with an intuitive sense of financial and operational implication
