We are looking for a motivated Instrumentation & Electrical Supervisor focused on increasing plant reliability and workforce productivity following world class asset management processes and safe work practices.

Reporting to the Superintendent – Maintenance & Reliability, you are responsible for:

  • Monitoring work practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees. Complying with Rio Tinto and Statutory Safety requirements
  • Managing, supervising and allocating work to a team of trade employees in High and Medium voltage maintenance as well as shop related activities.
  • Allocating technicians for coverage of scheduled and unscheduled breakdowns. 
  • Interfacing with planners and fellow Supervisors to assist in planning and scheduling of work.
  • Providing leadership in team building, planning, and establishing clear measures that keep everyone focused on safety, results, and the customer.
  • Ensuring work is completed in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement and soliciting inputs from team members.

 What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Electrical Trade Certification is mandatory.
  • 5+ years of electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • SAP experience or similar ERP system.
  • Use of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Must have or the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Preferences:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Previous exposure to a union environment.
  • Highly detail oriented.
