We’re located in West Palm Beach Florida, St. Thomas USVI, St. Croix USVI, and Anguilla BVI.

Job Summary:
Merchants Market is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Outside Sales Associate with a background in culinary arts. The successful candidate will be responsible for bolstering sales, forging strong relationships with clients, and utilizing their culinary expertise to enhance our market presence. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about both sales and the culinary arts and is looking for an exciting opportunity to grow their career.
Essential Functions:
• Utilizes culinary knowledge to understand client needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
• Acts as a resource for clients, offering culinary insights and creative ideas to enhance their offerings.
• Builds and nurtures strong, long-lasting relationships with clients in the food industry.
• Identifies industry trends in food service.
• Performs export sales on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Creates and implements sales plans.
• Generates and validates sales leads and follows up with all leads.
• Contacts direct sales customers to obtain weekly orders and enters orders into the Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP).
• Travels to St. John and St. Thomas islands to visit customers.
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Five plus years of sales experience with a service organization
• Food sales experience
• Culinary arts experience
• Microsoft Office skills
• ERP experience
• Proficient in Excel
• Attention to detail
• Ability to close a deal
• Bilingual, preferred
• Must have a U.S. Passport and the ability to travel as needed
Physical Requirements:
• Able to work in an office environment and lift up to 25 pounds.
