Special Education Teacher - Fort Pierre, SD (Contracted by ProCare Therapy)
ProCare Therapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Fort Pierre, SD. This position offers the opportunity to work with a supportive team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students with a variety of learning disabilities, including but not limited to autism, developmental delays, and emotional/behavioral disorders.
- Collaborate with other members of the educational team, including parents, therapists, and administrators, to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize innovative teaching strategies and assistive technologies to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to ensure academic and social-emotional growth.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, behavior, and services provided.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid state teaching license with Special Education endorsement.
- Previous experience working with students with special needs preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
