Eland Engineering, a GAI Consultants company, is a Florida-based Engineering and Maintenance Services firm. We are looking for 2 full-time ITS Technicians to perform a variety of tasks in central Florida. The position will be based in Seminole County (Sanford), Florida.

Job Description:

The duties of this technician role will include performing on-site or in-house servicing, repair, and/or installation of ITS/Traffic product(s). Duties may also include any aspect of field support and installation, electrical, data, and fiber optic cable installation; conduit and pull box installation; and pole and foundation installation. The successful candidate will determine the most effective means to install equipment to maximize efficiency. Responsibilities include recording and documenting work for projects, maintaining compliance standards and plans and documents, and providing technical assistance. Hands-on experience with fiber optic systems and/or ITS field devices such as DMS, CCTV, MVDS, RSU, Traffic Signal Controllers, and power systems is required.

Compensation Range: $40,000-$85,000 DOE (Depending on experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Installs equipment including but not limited to cameras, detectors, and controller cabinets.
  • Installs electrical conductor, data conductor, and fiber optic cable.
  • Installs pull boxes, conduits, poles, and foundations.
  • Connects conductors to equipment to make equipment work correctly.
  • Connects electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment.
  • Test devices to ensure they work correctly.
  • Prepares logs to keep track of field conditions and installation activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Selected candidates must pass a pre-employment background check including motor vehicle records check and drug test.

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday
  • On-call and weekend work may be assigned
  • Overtime

Qualifications

Education
High School of Diploma (required)

Experience
2 - 10 years: Experience with fiber optic cable installation and splicing. (required)
2 - 10 years: Experience in maintaining ITS field devices such as DMS, CCTV, MVDS, RSU, Traffic Signal Controllers, and power systems. (required)
2 - 10 years: Electronics repair and maintenance. (required)
2 - 10 years: Basic computer and networking skills. (required)
Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing and Troubleshooting. (preferred)
IMSA Certified (preferred)
MOT Certification (preferred)
