ITS supports the Intelligence Community, Rapid Prototyping Facilities, Premier Commercial Customers, and related end users around the world.

We are excited to be recruiting for the next important piece of our history and new talent, a Design Engineering Manager! This position plans, organizes and directs engineering and drafting professionals to meet company objectives for the design, new product development and improvement of existing product lines of A/V systems. This position oversees key engineering projects and processes.

The responsibilities of this role may include:

  • Plans and establishes engineering schedules and ensures performance is meeting the estimates provided
  • Coordinates the creation of blueprints and other engineering data
  • Ensures accuracy of drawings and adherence to established organizational standards and objectives
  • Works closely with other managers to ensure quality installation of A/V systems
  • Approves process specification and design standards
  • Recommends new policies or procedures as necessary
  • Reviews estimates and proposals and plans to determine if the organization can meet the engineering requirements
  • Recommends budgets to management, including staff use, technology, facility and equipment requirements or improvements
  • Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape and arrangement of equipment
  • Provides system engineering and solution-based architecture for commercial and military applications
  • Contributes to the designs of new products and improvements to existing products
  • Ensures equipment is procured timely and meets the specifications of the projects
  • Researches and evaluates products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability
  • Plans, formulates, organizes and assigns personnel according to project requirements
  • Reviews designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications
  • Develops implementation schedules, test plans, and training programs
  • Schedules and resolves engineering design and test problems
  • Directs the integration of products and equipment
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases
  • Informs team of the progress of projects
  • Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to assist in the development of audio-visual designs
  • Manages, delegates and coordinates drafting responsibilities and priorities to the drafting team
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

To qualify for this position, you must possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or other relevant discipline and years 7 to 10 years of audiovisual design engineering experience. A CTS-D certification is required.
