About this job

Mount Aloysius College, recognized by ModernThink as a 2022 and 2023 “Great College to Work For,” invites applications for a regular, full-time Licensed Professional Counselor to provide in person and onsite counseling for undergraduate students beginning August 2024. This is a 10-month, 40 hour per week position during the academic year with 20 additional workdays during the summer months.

The successful candidate will support student success and wellbeing through individual and group counseling sessions that address a wide array of social, emotional, and vocational concerns as well as clinical diagnoses. Our Counselors are trusted, knowledgeable professionals who work as part of a collaborative team in the Student Health & Wellness Center, and the broader Student Affairs division. Counselors are also responsible to review and approve student requests for accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act; and provide mental health prevention and awareness programming.

Since the heaviest workload occurs during the academic year, summers bring a time of respite and rejuvenation for our counselors to reenergize and plan for the fall semester. If you enjoy your profession, would love some down time in the summer months, and want to work with a fun and collaborative team, look no further. Apply today.

Qualifications

Active licensure in PA as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in good standing required. Master’s degree required. Minimum of three (3) years of experience providing counseling/mental health services required, preferably with emerging adult population. Demonstrated experience with crisis intervention strongly preferred. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to apply various counseling theories, diagnose and adhere to brief treatment plan goals. Ability to establish and maintain effective counseling relationships and monitor student progress in the therapy process also required.

Mount Aloysius College offers a generous benefits package for full-time employees including but not limited to: medical/health, dental, vision, and life insurance; short-term and long-term disability insurance; Retirement plan match; tuition remission; and an employee assistance program, among others.

This is a full-time, 10-month benefit eligible position. While some flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity for periodic remote days exists, this position is on campus in Cresson, PA and is not eligible for remote work. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of their application.
