Salary:

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Essential – 

 

  • Monitor and analyze network and server systems.
  • Apply updates and patches.
  • Assist in creating and updating SysOps documented procedures.
  • Assist in updating SysOps training and educational material.
  • Assist in account management tasks as needed.
  • Assist in SysOps security configuration and detection.
  • Assist in setting up SysOps & NetOps integrations; such as servers and switches
  • Assist in NetOps & SysOps Inventory
  • Assist in NetOps switch configuration
  • Assist in NetOps switch replacement
  • Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
  • Assist Information Technology Services department as needed.
  • Research technology and design as needed.
  • Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.

 

Secondary –

 

  • Perform other functions as assigned by the IT Infrastructure Lead, Director of ITS, or Chief Information Officer.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with the NIST 800-171 compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, such as YML and Python preferred.
  • Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students, faculty and other HutchCC stakeholders.
  • Strong overall IT skills and knowledge.
  • System administration experience in OpenVMS, Linux, Microsoft, VMWare, Novell.
  • Good working knowledge of mobile environment/access to host computers.
  • Familiarity with IT industry standards, such as ITIL and NIST.
  • Familiarity with PX and SQL data structures.
  • Experience with the TCP/IP (IPv4 &IPv6).
  • Experience with OSPF and other routing protocols.
  • Experience with VoIP – SIP & H.323.
  • Experience with security protocols such as LDAP, RADIUS, 802.1x, SSH, and SSL.
  • Experience with TIA/EIA 568B wiring standards, troubleshooting, and installation.
  • Familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, CSS and other web languages.
  • Familiarity with Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
  • Work effectively and professionally with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality in a student-centered environment.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals from diverse ethnic, racial, socioeconomic, gender and disabilities populations.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push/pull, carry, etc.; excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills; excellent organizational skills; ability and willingness to collaborate; work independently; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; Light to moderate/medium, indoor work environment.

HOURLY WAGE and STATUS: {Emergency Status}


  • The hourly rate of pay is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This fulltime support staff position is 12 month annual, benefit eligible, at-will, and nonexempt.  This position will be located at the HutchCC Main Campus location with possible travel to remote sites.
