Job Description
Harborside Veterinary Care is looking for a Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. If you haven't heard of us, it's because we are new to the scene. This position will be working very closely with the owner veterinarian. Feedback and insight will be valued and encouraged. We are consciously choosing the tools (i.e. practice management software) that will aim to make your job easier and streamline efficiency. The owner veterinarian has worked at some point in time as a receptionist, assistant and performed the duties of a surgical technician. There are frustrations inherent to all these positions that can affect job satisfaction and we are here to try and minimize them.
Our ideal candidate will exhibit the following traits:
- Exceptional & compassionate nursing care and client service skills
- Experience with surgical monitoring, anesthesia & perioperative care
- Dental prophylaxis - proficiency is desired but not required
- Clear and effective communication
- Cooperation to become Fear Free Certified
- Flexibility, understanding & a positive attitude when it comes to change & growth expected with a new start-up
Position Requirements:
- Must be currently licensed in WA or eligible to apply for your license prior to working at Harborside Veterinary Care.
- Preferred at least 1 year experience running anesthesia.
- Must meet the physical needs inherent to animal handling & shift work including lifting up to 40 lbs. and the stamina to work on your feet.
- 35-40 hours/week
- No weekends
- Traditional hours Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
- Delayed start Wednesday
- $22 - $28 an hour (DOE)
