MK Magnetics specializes in the production of custom and standard tape wound soft magnetic cores for transformers and inductors. All the cores we sell are manufactured on site in Adelanto, California, in a 75,000 square-foot modern/multi-building facility specifically designed and built for manufacturing tape wound magnetic cores.

JOB SUMMARY – The Operations Manager is responsible for plant operations for the company

RESPONIBILITIES:

  • Direct and coordinate plant operations within established company policies and procedures
  • Accountable for achievements of plant performance objectives including safety, productivity, quality, etc.
  • Partner with Executive Management and headquarters to establish and implement company policies and procedures as needed
  • Engage with department managers to ensure that operations run efficiently and challenges are addressed in a positive, professional manner
  • Monitor plant expenditures and communicate proactively with the Executive Team and Finance
  • Foster a positive working atmosphere; promoting respect, ethical standards, professionalism, teamwork and open, honest communications at all levels of the organization as well as while interfacing with those outside the company
  • Objectively coach and mediate employees through complex issues; resolving conflicts and gaining cooperation and compromise among opposing parties
  • Act as liaison to help resolve critical customer issues to the customer’s satisfaction
  • Proactively seek opportunities for plant improvements, gain necessary support, implement, and track improvements
  • Monitor and assess performance of employees to acknowledge accomplishments or take corrective action
  • Work with department managers and Shop Foreman to identify and prioritize additional resources, including personnel, capital equipment, and facility maintenance
  • Assist the President and Vice President in identifying new opportunities such as product development, production capability, strategic partnerships and alliances, etc.
  • Provide oversight for regulatory and governmental compliance as well as providing insight on cost/value of new compliance initiatives
  • Deal patiently with problems and complaints, remaining courteous when faced with difficult or dissatisfied individuals

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors’ degree in production operations management or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years leadership/managerial experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of tape wound cores is strongly preferred (raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution)
  • Understanding and experience employing principles of business management, strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, production methods, etc. for the best business outcomes
  • Demonstratable computer and software proficiency, Microsoft Office suite, MRP systems.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions and implement corrections when needed
  • Proven ability to respond appropriately to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or employees
  • Strong project management and presentation skills are required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on respect, ethics, professionalism, teamwork, open and honest communications at all levels
  • Provide guidance to subordinates, including setting performance goals and monitoring performance
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, with employees at all levels and external contacts
  • Must work well in a team environment, possess an ability to adapt to change in the environment, and have proven ability to exert influence in a directive and positive manner
  • Must be able to lead, manage, and motivate a team through direct or indirect management
  • Demonstrated technical analysis capabilities including analysis, process improvement methodologies, production concepts and systems, etc.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must demonstrate effective time management skills
  • Be open to constructive criticism and make appropriate adjustments
  • Ability to de-escalate situations and support positive discussion and outcomes
