Capstone On-Campus Management (COCM), with headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, is a group of student housing professionals focused exclusively on the management of housing communities owned by non-profits and/or highly affiliated with a university.

Summary

The primary responsibility of this student position is to support the Rountree Commons Staff in maintaining and enhancing the residential community. Duties include but are not limited to cleaning/disinfecting common area spaces such as floor lounges, kitchens, and first floor, vacuuming, moving trash & recycling to the main trash room on the first floor from floor trash rooms, and possibly assisting with painting and repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in daily general inspections.
• Reset and prepare suites for new residents, including but not limited to: cleaning, vacuuming and carpet cleaning, rearranging and replacing furniture, general repair, and maintenance, etc.
• Paint suites and common spaces as necessary.
• Service garbage and recycling areas, including but not limited to: proper removal and transport of materials to the disposal areas.
• Assist with general building cleaning and related services.
• Escort and monitor contracted repair and service vendors while on-site providing a service.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma.
• Current student at University of Wisconsin-Platteville
• Ability to lift to 50lbs and navigate up and down stairs.
• Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
• Possess strong customer service skills.
• Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Work Hours

This student position is anticipated to work 20-32 hours a week for the summer at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. This position does not offer benefits. Work will typically be performed Monday through Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm, however, we will strive to accommodate class schedules and on occasion, the position may require weekend work.

Compensation

Summer Facilities Assistants will be paid $10.00 per hour and will receive summer housing accommodations at no cost in Rountree Commons if desired. Position not eligible for benefits.
