Laundry Lead

Summary of Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Supervises and contributes to the resorts’ Laundry department operation to ensure efficient production and delivery of quality guest room linen/terry product in a safe and timely manner
  • Carefully examines and sorts articles of laundry based on color and soil content to ensure that each item is cleaned to the highest standards.
  • Fold and organize linens
  • Ensures adherence to all company and departmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Monitors department safety efforts for area of responsibility
  • Supervises staff and work assignments
  • Attends morning meetings as necessary in order to keep up to date on respective Resort related activities/information
  • Conducts periodic inventories of all linen and terry products and assists with generating monthly usage report.
  • Communicates pertinent information in order to maintain effective operation of the department
  • Monitors chemical usage and communicates inventory needs
  • Determines need for, and conducts appropriate on-going training for Laundry team as required
  • Provides employee performance feedback to the Director of Operations and assists in determining areas of improvement and
  • Maintains an open line of communication with property Leaders in regard to equipment functionality, required PM’s and anticipated repairs.

Education and Experience Required

  • Minimum 1 year Laundry experience, preferably in resort operations
  • 1-2 years of knowledge and/or usage of housekeeping chemicals, and linen and fabric knowledge.
  • Trained and proficient in handling commercial laundry equipment.

  • Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees.
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined.
  • Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information.
  • Must have a professional appearance with good personal hygiene.
  • Must promote and support a “team” work environment by cooperating and helping co-workers.
  • Must be able to be productive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Must maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to utilize effective communication, problem solving, conflict management and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to comprehend instructions and retain information.
  • Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities.
  • Able to tolerate various temperatures while working indoors and outdoors.
  • Able to operate industrial laundry equipment required.
  • Able to stand continuously while moving, lift, bend, stoop, push and pull repeatedly
