Environmental Technician - Arcadia, Florida

Full-time, Non-Exempt position

 

Summary:

We are looking for professionals who enjoy traveling, working outdoors, and who share our passion for restoring the natural environment. At EarthBalance®, we restore ecosystems across the entire US.

 

The Environmental Technician supervises the crew and participates in ecosystem restoration projects, and assists with project execution, bidding, and quality control. The Environmental Technician maintains client and subcontractor relationships for assigned projects.

The right candidate will be willing and able to:

  • Work with crew members and subcontractors to manage the execution of our projects.
  • Treat and remove non-native plants as well as perform native flora planting.
  • Prepare and submit data and progress reports regarding project execution, status, schedule, and costs.
  • Conduct quality control inspections.
  • Run a minimum of 1 to 2 projects at various stages of work.

 

To be successful at this job, you will need:

  • One year of experience working in a related field; and
  • Degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Forestry, or related field; or
  • A combination of education and experience.
  • The ability to travel to and from job sites in and out of the state of Florida, with frequent overnight stays of 5 days or more.
  • Valid, clean driver's license in the state of Florida.
  • Applicator license Category 5A and 21 or the ability to obtain the license within 60 days of hire.

 

Physical requirements:
Most of the duties of this job are performed outside. You will be hiking and using 4X4's, ATVs and UTVs, swamp buggies, airboats, and other vehicles to move through uneven terrain, wetlands, beaches, mangroves, and other types of beautiful natural environments.
