About Us:

Since our inception in 2002, Southwest Steel Processing has proudly claimed Newport, Arkansas, as our base of operations. We began our journey with a single forging facility, armed with a 6,000-ton mechanical forging press line dedicated to crafting standard railcar products. Over the years, we’ve augmented our production capabilities, adding a 7,000-ton press line and two 1,000-ton press lines. Today, we also offer machining, heat treating, and finishing services to a diverse set of industries, showcasing the growth and flexibility of our operations.

Position Overview:

Southwest Steel Processing is looking for a qualified maintenance person who under the direction of the Maintenance Lead, is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Production machines and resolving all maintenance issues in a prompt manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Repair production equipment, mechanical and electrical
• Check maintenance notes daily, and record into data base
• Daily press inspection
• Stay in contact with Supervisor
• Keep up with maintenance inventory
• Daily look at the pit to make sure it is controlled
• Schedule maintenance around production
• Hands on
• Keep Supervisor informed at all times
• Make sure all safety (PPE) is being used properly
• Be on call as needed
• Willing to work off shift if necessary
• Any other mechanical items deemed necessary

Physical Requirements:

• All work is performed at the Warehouse or Forge. The employee is not directly in the weather however weather is a factor.
• Must be able to lift or move at least 50 lbs.
• Must have the ability to stand, bend, walk, and drive as needed throughout the day.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of previous Industrial Maintenance experience, including mechanical and electrical.

Training: On the job training will be provided.
