ABOUT THE ROLE

Supervise warehouse personnel to ensure an efficient, accurate and orderly completion of the daily picking and packing of inventory while maintaining a neat, orderly and efficient warehouse environment. The Manager will perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.

Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Management:

  • Manage the RIGSERV computerized inventory program (SAM) and reporting functions.
  • Maintain control of all material received at the Amelia Warehouse and delivered to RIGSERV.
  • Manage the review, tracking and resolution of OS&D. This also includes working with the client representatives.
  • Manage the team to review all incoming manifests and shipping documents, checking them against cargo received and ensure that all boxes are box tagged upon receipt.
  • Oversee the preparation of manifests for departing supply vessels and helicopters, reviewing and signing off on all outgoing manifests and equipment departing.
  • Monitor and oversee the time-sensitive and accurate sequencing, picking, shipping, or receiving of all merchandise and materials, including ensuring the quality of all inbound and outbound products, which includes OS&D management through resolution and Urgent Air Freight.
  • Responsible for the development/monitoring of KPIs and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Create and implement cost savings through LEAN processes and Kaizen events.
  • Train new hires and existing employees on all sequencing, picking, shipping, or receiving procedures, including the enforcement of safety procedures in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Team Management:

  • Manage and lead a team of coordinators and receivers to perform their tasks effectively.
  • Work within budgetary/financial objectives set by the manager.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to assess the group's overall status, discuss ideas for improvement, and inform staff of new developments.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule, including outside normal business hours, and after-hours on-call rotation.
  • Address and resolves any performance challenges within the team immediately.

Communication:

  • Ensure all changes are communicated to all parties including team, manager, customer, and suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with manager, customer, and suppliers concerning load and material issues and status, serving as a liaison to communicate load, plant, routing issues, or concerns between employees at the facility and customers or suppliers.

Material Handling:

  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to organizational standards as needed.
  • Receive items within RigServ’s receiving procedures and shipping procedures as needed.
  • Perform audit on material receipt accuracy.
  • Open and pack bales, crates, totes, and other containers as needed.
  • Maintain inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing requests, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer.

Warehouse Maintenance:

  • Ensure the maintenance of a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet areas, and workstations neat, sweep, dust, and mop.
  • Ensure that the team is organizing the warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Ensure all RIGSERV employees and contractors wear the proper safety equipment.

Safety Accountabilities:

  • Activities are typically wide-ranging as a recognized expert and problem-solver. This applies to all areas of safety management. Demonstrates a detailed knowledge of the safety management systems and procedures within their department.
  • Ensures that personal behaviors/work practices are a role model to all and in line with RigServ safety standard.
  • Have thorough knowledge of site fire and emergency procedures.
  • Participate in all safety drills, meetings, fire and boat drills and safety training programs.
  • Contributes to and supports safety toolbox meetings etc.
  • Participates in multiple reviews of results from operating tests or changes in work procedures carefully to ensure there is no impact to work area.
  • Leads and pays close attention to “housekeeping,” double- checks and takes additional safety precautions to ensure no-one is put at risk by own work and the work of others.
  • Takes no short cuts and encourages other team members to take due care and not put others at risk.
  • Participates in safety initiatives/committees where appropriate.
  • Advises other Departments and checks others’ working around them to ensure that safety procedures are well understood and followed.
  • Anticipates and seeks to resolve, or where necessary reports incidents of failure or risk.
  • Passes on information and feedback from accident/incident data and re-hab processes and takes action to improve safety conditions.
  • Evaluates others’ working around them to ensure that safety procedures are well understood and followed.
  • Participates in multiple investigations of injuries/incidents in their own and other departments.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the sound decisions.
  • Required to supervise a team working in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse facility, which may include working temperatures above 100°ree; for periods of more than one hour.

What We’re Looking For

  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Maritime Management, Business Management, Accounting and Finance or other business disciplines.
  • Previous experience of 2+ years working in a warehouse environment.
  • Advanced knowledge across the MS Office suite to create reports.
  • This hands-on position requires a good working knowledge of all items and material used in an offshore environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Oil & Gas experience is a plus.
  • Forklift certification per OSHA standard is preferred.
  • A team player with strong time management skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to address and resolve challenges in a timely manner.
