JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Manager will oversee the production process to make sure that all products meet consistent standards. Develop and implement quality control tests, inspecting products at various stages and writing reports documenting production issues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure the meeting or exceeding of quality specifications and standards of ISO and ASME Code.
  • Establish and implement quality procedures and specifications, testing procedures, and standards for raw materials and for in-process and finished products.
  • Establish, Manage and Audit quality systems, initiating corrective action as required.
  • Develop process control procedures ensuring production of finished products meeting quality specifications and standards.
  • Develop training for and train employees on quality-related practices and system requirements.
  • Produce quality reports; root cause identification, corrective actions, repetitive failure trends, supplier score card results, and manage items returned to suppliers for Credit.
  • Develop and lead cross-functional teams to address and resolve quality issues and to improve levels of quality and productivity.
  • Manage the Warranty budget and report on the monthly and yearly spending.
  • Monitor items shipped to end customers under warranty requesting items be returned for root cause identification of failure.
  • Conduct research on product defects and recommend modifications in product or quality standards where warranted.
  • Review all quality complaints received from internal and external customers to determine corrective action and work with internal departments to endure corrective actions are put in place.
  • Aid internal and external customers regarding quality problems or concerns.
  • Manage the certification of all gauges used by production and service team to ensure they meet NIST standards.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or field related to the products being developed required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Proven experience as quality manager

  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant legal standards
  • Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
  • BSc/ Ba in business administration or relevant field
  • Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to prioritize and manage time and work projects effectively.
