SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for protecting Company assets and performing surveillance duties to ensure State and Federal gaming laws and policies and procedures are being maintained in games, slots, cashiers, and soft and hard count rooms.

Contribute to a safe work environment, through compliance with established safety guidelines, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person for proper resolution.

Maintain a professional departmental, company and community reputation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all property related issues.
  • Operate monitor room equipment, including basic computer functions.
  • Participate in court actions relating to gaming violations.
  • Learn all games in use on property and all procedures and cheating indicators of such games.
  • Write proper reports as needed.
  • Read and understand Arkansas Gaming and Title 31 rules and laws.
  • Respond to surveillance supervision and gaming control requests.
  • Respond to requests of all other departments when necessary.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area.
  • Perform work in an honest and trustworthy manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality within the set guidelines.
  • Perform Player evaluations while furthering knowledge of surveillance operations.
  • Attend all training classes and seminars as directed.
  • Maintain digital recordings and storage and document any system abnormalities or malfunctions in the tech log.
  • Observe and identify suspected cheaters and cheating techniques, and make department management aware of the observations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Observe and report any and all gaming violations and/or thefts of property and ensure these are documented.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

AGE and GAMING:

21 years of age or above

Gaming property – Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the State of Arkansas.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Graduate or equivalent. Minimum one year of gaming surveillance experience preferred but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. Fluency in English. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with and apply mathematical concepts such as probability, fractions and percentages preferred.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have 20/20 corrected vision. Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least fifteen (15) pounds, and varied instances of standing/walking during the shift.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke.

Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees must be able to work varying-schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

This position requires some anonymity from the general employee population and limited to no participation in company employee events.
