The firm seeks a Senior Manager to report directly to the Executive Team and contribute to the Senior Leadership Team, lateral with law partners and administrative directors. This role will work closely with the Research and Methodology Coordinator to ensure research quality and delivery.

The successful candidate will have a passion for advancing equity and desire work that has an impact. They will embody professionalism and be skilled at project delivery and management strategy, while creating a collaborative environment for team members to thrive. The candidate will have demonstrated management experience and a track record of leading teams to success and ensuring the professional development of their staff. This candidate will be proficient at producing timely and useful reporting, tracking KPIs, and will be able to work collaboratively with the Operations and Executive teams on firm advancement and strategy.

Role Description:

  • Manage the project management team, ensuring that goals are on track and deadlines are met.
  • Accountable for the quality of work being done by the Project Management team.
  • Being a dependable and accessible leader to Project Management team.
  • Managing the implementation and upkeep of projects.
  • Defining project scope, goals, and tasks for all projects.
  • Monitoring project progress and deliverables and jumping to action when a deadline is at risk.
  • Motivating the project managers.
  • Maintain reporting to executive team and bridging the communication between Project Management team and Sr. Director
  • Create best practices for project tracking, client communication, and risk mitigation.
  • Communicate project expectations to internal and external persons.
  • Skilled in managing and developing staff, providing feedback on performance, assigning work, recommending personnel actions.
  • Partner with executive leadership to discuss and prioritize projects.
  • Implement change management methodologies to foster a culture of adaptability and resilience within the firm.
  • Foster a collaborative and high performing work environment.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of project management team.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and challenges in project execution and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee and manage large multi-project teams.
  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Review deliverables prepared by the team before providing them to executives and clients.
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Track and maintain lessons learned.
  • Serve as escalation point to prioritizing workloads and resolving issues.
  • Tracking KPI’s and metrics.

Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated management and leadership experience, preferable in a professional service environment.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workflow to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to change and proactively take charge of tasks and priorities.
  • Managerial courage
  • Strong project management, time management, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Smartsheet and Microsoft Office
  • Technical adaptability
  • Project and client driven
