Position: Human Resources Director

Reporting to: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)

Location: Bentonville, AR (Onsite)

Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE) is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as Human Resources Director. AWE supports operating non-profits founded by AliceWalton including the Alice L. Walton Foundation, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, Art Bridges, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Momentary, and Heartland Whole Health Institute.

About the Position

The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for leading benefits administration, compensation, performance management, employee relations and enforcing company policies and practices. Relationships with various levels of entity leaders, business partnership and HR thought leadership are key roles this position will play. The ideal candidate will possess a strategic mindset, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for building high-performing teams.

What you will do

Responsibilities

  • Developing the human resources strategy to support assigned business area by understanding strategic business goals and objectives; advising on the execution of organizational change initiatives; assessing human resources implications of various strategies; providing guidance to the leaders on human resources issues.
  • Provides support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff with complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues; investigate allegations of wrongdoing and terminations.
  • Manage compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations and company policies and procedures by keeping current on laws and regulations related to general human resource practices and regulations related to licensure and certifications; implementing and monitoring HR compliance; implementing action plans to improve performance and reduce instances of no-compliance; and directing management teams in ensuring confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS).
  • Applies decision making and risk management across all company projects and initiatives to ensure employee retention, engagement and efficiency in operations.
  • Builds and refines people processes. Develops playbooks with standardized approaches for use throughout the ecosystem to drive efficiency and ensure consistent positive experiences for associates and customers.
  • Culture building internally and externally in partnership with Chief Human Resources Officer.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications required for your success

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in human resources, with 5 years in a leadership role.
  • HRIS experience, Workday preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve results.
  • Strong business acumen with data analysis.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and ability to learn new software applications.

  • Physical demands: Position requires utilizing a computer and telephone for prolonged periods of time, good eye/hand coordination, verbal, and written conversation with others, and lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs.
  • Work environment: Work will be performed in an office environment full-time (Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.) The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and evenings, may be necessary to support operational needs.
