Quarry Truck Driver

Position Summary

The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with other co-workers and managers. Job duties entail the operation of an off-road heavy-duty truck including water truck, quarry truck, and stock truck.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Learn and follow safety regulations.

* CDL NOT REQUIRED

* Skills required are attention to detail in a fast paced, high production industry; and have the ability to adapt quickly in a changing work environment.

* Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.

* Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.

* Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions.

* Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned. Depending on materials hauled, may require unloading of contents by hand or shovel.

* Must keep truck in a clean and orderly condition.

* Must be in good standing with Teamsters Union

* Regular and timely attendance

Physical Demands

Walking several miles per day, occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and traveling over irregular terrain. Some tasks involve: prolonged periods of standing and/or exposure to noise or weather, good motor coordination, finger dexterity, and color discrimination. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Capable of lifting heavy objects and equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. All essential duties must be performed without posing a direct threat to their own, or others, health, and safety, with or without the use of a reasonable accommodation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is occasionally very loud and may require protective equipment.

Education/Experience

* High school diploma or GED preferred.

* A valid State licenses.

* Understanding of Smith Driving System a plus
