Community Concierge team members serve as the face of the Y and support a best-in-class experience for our customers. You will actively interact and engage with community members, provide solutions and offerings, and support them in discovering opportunities at the YMCA. Additionally, as part of the Customer Care Center, you will provide customers with information and assistance as it relates to YMCA of Metro Chicago programs, services, and offerings through various channels (web, chat, email, phone, etc.).

Salary range based on qualifications $15.86-$19.00 per hour

Available shifts: Mondays 12-5pm, Fridays 6:30am-2pm

Scope and Responsibility

  • Greet community members and guests and make them feel welcome and engaged
  • Answer phones and email inquiries and assist customers with inquiries, problems, or requests according to standard operating procedures
  • Actively manage customer transactions
  • Support facility operations by partnering with local Community Hub leadership to ensure community spaces are clean at all times
  • Anticipate individuals needs in order to accommodate them and provide an exceptional customer experience
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and order new stock, as needed

Requirements

  • Earned high school diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service or hospitality, preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed
  • Top-notch verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) tools and systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish highly preferred

Child Abuse Prevention - Supports the YMCA's commitment to child abuse prevention by:

  • Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
  • Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
  • Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
  • Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
