We are seeking a motivated leader to join our PR - Pearl River site's Operations team based in Bay St Louis, MS . We are seeking a motivated individual to lead and support our polymer operations team. The ideal candidate for t he Operations Manageruses their strong leadership and communication skills to foster a continuous improvement culture, monitor and achieve production KPIs, and maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

The Operations Manager will be reportable to the Site Director and have responsibilities for the following tasks:
  • Drive behavior-based safety culture and promote healthy, clean and good working environment.
  • Promote alignment to the Alpek Polyester Culture and strategy
  • Plan, manage, and set direction and establish priorities to effectively manage day-to-day polymer manufacturing operations using established systems and procedures.
  • Identify and implement effective operations strategies, tools, and best practices.
  • Implement actions to improve productivity and compliance to departmental goals.
  • Develop annual budget and manage cost to meet operating budget objectives and lower conversion cost.
  • Use technical capability to drive data driven approach to chemical processing issues
  • Drive continuous improvement in all areas of operations including safety, operations, quality, and cost.
  • Provide leadership and professionally manage operations area to direct reports. Perform evaluations with feedback and manage training and skills progression programs.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Five (5) years of progressive professional experience as Chemical Engineer and/or Process Engineer.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Desire to work in a hands-on environment
  • Five (5) years of progressive professional experience in polymer chemical manufacturing preferred.
