Job Purpose:
* The Region Strategy and Operations Lead - South plays a critical role in developing, deploying and enabling successful execution of the long-term vision and strategy for the region. The role leads the strategic planning process, develops processes and deploys platforms to assess progress in the delivery d of key business objectives.
* The purpose of this role is to support the Region GM and works as a member of the Regional Executive Team to develop and execute successful strategic business plans and initiatives that deliver on cross functional regional goals and KPIs focused on Oncology Portfolio commercial growth and successful customer engagement.
* This role is accountable for identifying operational efficiencies and business strategies to drive business performance across the Novartis oncology portfolio and to ensure a strong team and customer experience through effective communications, engagement utilization of tools, resources, account planning, and training.

This is a remote opportunity. The ideal candidate will live in the southern region of the United States; however, this is a Remote role.

Major Accountabilities
Region Strategy
* Work closely with the Region Executive Team to develop a strategic blueprint aligning priorities and objectives, identify needed capabilities, and monitor execution of the strategic plan, as well as make recommendations for adjustments throughout the planning period
* Regional Performance tracking: Lead a cross-functional team to develop a comprehensive platform for measuring performance based on internal and external qualitative and quantitative inputs. Synthesize insights for engagement with regional teams and with senior CE & HQ leadership.
* Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners to drive regional coordination with customer engagement operations and skills/capabilities teams as well as other HQ functions that are operational enablers for the team

Leadership strategic advisory and business operations
* Support Region GM, Regional Sales Director and CE Priority Account leads in coordinating projects and initiatives with HQ teams, and monitor progress
* Support the Region GM on coordinating responses to various requests and in preparing for leadership meetings. Act as delegate for GM and be the voice of Customer Engagement on national initiatives and brand workstreams.
* Support Regional Sales Director on tracking of relevant SF KPI (e g Reach / frequency, call quality) and rollout of promotional strategies to the sales team. Work with Sales leadership team on data needs to drive performance and behaviors.
* Support regional leadership with integration of change management practices related to structure, process, ways of working and tactical execution
* Communication/ Engagement Plan: Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan for all stakeholders in the Region (blogs, town halls, webcasts, recognition, etc.) in collaboration with Business Planning & Strategy role for Head of Oncology.
* Culture & People: Work with Regional leadership to nurture culture and advance people initiatives that attract, retain and grow talent

Operational Excellence on Region Priorities
* Serve as a liaison across functions and support pull through of key initiatives.
* Lead the planning, execution, and follow up for business reviews and national/regional meetings
* Orchestrate Cross Region alignment and best practice sharing
* Manage the Region calendar to ensure appropriate alignment between priorities and scheduling
* Track the allocation and utilization of resources, regional operations budget, provides advice and recommendations on maximizing value from available resource

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $166,400 and $249 600/year, however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Role Requirements

Essential Requirements:
* College degree-required, advanced degree preferred
* A minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences business management or operational roles; sales, marketing, market access, incentives or strategy experience preferred
* A minimum of 2 years in sales leadership preferred
* Experience working in account-based customer engagement environment preferred
* Demonstrated ability to quickly build relationships to collaborate with and influence cross functional stakeholders
* Sophisticated interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills, ability to synthesize data, interpret and translate into compelling and clear strategies and plans.
* Proven ability to manage and successfully execute multiple parallel projects in a highly visible and fast paced environment
* Demonstrated ability to achieve organizational objectives by working through others, including the ability to anticipate, adapt, own and/or work in a group to support changing business needs
* Demonstrated prioritization, organizational, analytical and research skills, and the ability to conceptualize complex issues, processes, and solutions
