Apply Now!Your Opportunity The Market/Live Haul Driver safely drives haul truck with capacity of more than thirty tons, transporting animals to and from specified farm or plant destinations. Core ResponsibilitiesSuccessfully completes a Road Test and be issued a certificateProperly prepares and evaluates equipment pre-trip and post-tripWorks in single driver environmentHandles shipping documents to ensure accuracy and timely submissionPositions equipment properly to safely load and offload animals at farm or plant destinationDrives day/night in variety of climates and trafficMaintains logs, DVIR, itinerary, and other paperwork as requiredFuels up equipment and properly uses on-board computer (or turns in logs) dailyHooks up trailer to tractor, that includes backing under the trailer, raising landing gear and hooking up airlinesComplies with all Bio-Security (BMS), Safety (IPS) and Environmental (EMS) management system's rules and regulationsComplies with DOT rules and regulationsComplies with all Smithfield established policies and proceduresReports problems encountered on the farm or designated plant through the swine movement ticket or farm condition report.Reads and understands the Smithfield emergency notification process knowing how and who to contact in case of an emergency The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
