KROC CENTER MISSION

In keeping with the mission of The Salvation Army, The Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center located in Green Bay, WI provides facilities, programs and services that strengthen, encourage, and enrich children, adults, and seniors through positive life-changing experiences.

SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Custodian is a collaborative member of the overall Kroc team focused on providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers in support of the programs and mission of the Kroc. This role emphasizes housekeeping activities and support to other team members to ensure effective operations.

  1. Directly responsible for housekeeping activities to ensure a clean, healthy environment for employees and guests; ability to utilize various cleaning chemicals and equipment (incl. mop/bucket, carpet vacuums and extractors, floor machines, power washers and scrubbers, etc.).
  2. Ensure all restrooms and other common areas are maintained and stocked at all times including attention to soap dispensers, toweling, waste cans, and other ongoing daily needs that may require repeated attention due to facility usage.
  3. Respond promptly to radio calls and other contacts seeking facilities team member assistance, communicating well and being ready and willing to assist with facility needs.
  4. Receive deliveries and ensure items are stored properly or the appropriate contact is advised of the delivery.
  5. Assist other facilities crew members with light maintenance or setup/teardown activities as needed.
  6. Knowledge and use of all proper personal equipment, including wearing of protective gloves, safety glasses, and lifting belts.
  7. Perform tasks related to the care, maintenance, and repair of assets related to programs and events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Must be at least 18 years old

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience preferred

- OR -

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

This job is performed in a busy community center environment which includes but is not limited to a typical office setting, a gymnasium, an aquatics center, and event spaces. The building is climate controlled and most work will be done at normal room temperature, however some work areas may be more humid or of variable temperature based on the activities taking place at the time. The noise level in this work environment can range from low to loud.

For other duties of this job, such as outdoor special events and community center activities, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment at these events can again range from low to loud.

This position requires the employee be available to work days, weeknights, weekends, and holidays as required.
