Job Description

A Millwrights primary purpose will be installing, maintaining, upgrading and fabricating machinery and equipment according to layout plans and drawings. You will be working on various construction sites, both locally and regionally, so some travel is involved. ASI covers all travel related expenses. This individual is to work under the supervision of a project manager constructing grain sites.

PAY: $15.00-$20.00 or higher based on experience (possible wage increase after 60 days based on performance)

HOURS: Primarily: 7am-5pm, Monday thru Friday (occassional weekends)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Move machinery and equipment, using hoist, dollies, rollers, and trucks
  • Assemble and install equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand tools and power tools
  • Construct foundation for machines, using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement, and steel
  • Align machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers and plumb bobs
  • Assemble machinery and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures, using hand and power tools
  • Operate engine lathe or milling machine to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications
  • Repair and lubricate machinery and equipment
  • Select cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved
  • Attach load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hook
  • Set up braces, and rigs hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches
  • Direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment
  • Follow instruction and read drawings
  • Work at heights without fear
  • Make decisions based on measurable information

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED and 1-2 years of related experience and knowledge in building grain handling equipment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Operated: Crane, Skid-loader, Lull, Forklift, Impacts, Chop Saws
  • Welding Experience: Arc/stick, Wire feed, Torch
  • Able to read tape measure
  • Reliable transportation
  • Self-motivated

Physical Demands

  • Climb and maintain body balance at heights of 100ft. or more on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures
  • Lift 60lbs regularly
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, sit, and stand for long periods of time.
  • Full range of body movements

Working Conditions

  • Workdays maybe from 45-60 hours per week, or as needed to meet customer demand
  • Could include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends
  • Traveling to jobsites in company vehicle
