Position is located at a small rural healthcare facility. The officer is responsible for doing walking patrols inside and outside the building, which includes but is not limited to: hallways, closed offices, parking areas, storage areas, etc. During patrols, the officer is looking for anything out of the blue, such as unauthorized personnel, hazards, suspicious vehicles, and generally anything that could pose a safety threat. The officer is also responsible for conducting safety checks of different equipment around the facility. This includes but is not limited to: temperature gauges, kitchen equipment, fire alarms, and boiler rooms. The officer is also required to be an enforcer of the facility rules. You will be required to assist with problematic situations arising from patients or staff members. The officer may also be needed to assist in emergencies. Officers may also be given duties such as escorting vendors/couriers, signing for deliveries, retrieving items from the kitchen, and similar tasks. As a security officer, the overall objective is to protect the client’s premise from the hazards of fire, theft, accidents, vandalism, trespassing, and other damaging influences, both internal and external, maintaining law and order, protecting lives and property, as well as all other client specific duties.
Requirements:
- Must have a Georgia Security Officer license to start working. The company can assist with the process if needed.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must have a clean background – no felonies
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
- Must be able to work any shift
- Must possess high school diploma or GED
- Must be able to deal with the public
- Must be able to read, write, and speak clear/fluent English
- Must be able to walk, climb stairs/ladders, stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, lift, and work in extreme heat/cold
- Good physical health and fitness is essential
- Eyesight corrected to 20/20 vision as well as a normal sense of hearing and smell are essential
- Must be able to observe and report correctly and in a timely manner; this includes verbal and written reporting
- Must be able to be always highly visible and alert in order to act as a deterrent against theft, trespassing, or vandalism of the client’s property
- An officer is responsible for acquiring and maintaining all license and certification needs to perform their duties
