CVOR Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant (NP/PA), Yuma, AZ

Our client, a large hospital in Yuma, AZ, has a need for a CVOR Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant The role of the APP in the Cardiac Surgery clinic is to help assess and coordinate patient care needs around the perioperative period for cardiac surgery. This role includes pre and post operative care needs during this period. If you do not live near Yuma, you are eligible for a relocation bonus, along with a sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates clinical expertise and expanded knowledge, which may include diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems.
• Responsible for the health outcome of an assigned patient population.
• Conducts comprehensive appraisals of patients' health
• Provides direct clinical care to patients.
• Prescribes/orders medications and therapies
• Orders/interprets laboratory tests, x-rays and procedures according to clinical privileges.
• Evaluates patients to determine their need for further health care.
• Provides comprehensive teaching to patients and families.
• Documents in the medical record all care and education provided and/or procedures performed

Education and Requirements:

• Master’s degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program required
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona required (or able to obtain).
• Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Arizona required (or able to obtain).
• Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national certifying body required.
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation Certification – BLS, issued by the American Heart Association required
• Experience working with Cardiology patients
