Oversee total on-site construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with the design, budget, and schedule. Supervise and coordinate self-performed and subcontracted work for overall contract compliance and quality.

 

Job Description:

 

· Manage day-to-day field activities to ensure that project milestone dates and overall schedule completion date are met.

· Work with client, architect, consultants, and foremen on all aspects of the project.

· Ensure a clear understanding of all aspects of assigned projects and communicates effectively to project team regarding: drawings, specifications, schedules, material and supply budgets, subcontractor coordination, and client-driven rules and regulations.

· Create short-interval look-ahead project schedules that make sure upcoming events are communicated, tracked and proactively attended to.

· Prepares and maintains detailed project schedules.

· Conduct and/or attend pre-construction, progress and other project and staff meetings.

· Maintain daily paperwork such as timesheets, field reports, schedule updates and email correspondence.

· Manage all changes in scope of work.

· Manage self-performed activities and material demands to ensure work is being performed within the established project budget.

· Manage the punch list and project closeout process.

· Create and maintain a culture that values safety, health and cleanliness.

· Mentors and trains others for overall team development.

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

 

· 10+ years of experience in a Superintendent role for medium to large size commercial construction projects

· Subcontractor coordination experience with an understanding of project control and change order management

· Successful track record for safe and quality work that was completed on time and on budget

· Strong math and analytical skills

· Organized and can produce a paper trail that can be easily understood by a third party

· Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word, and other construction related software

· Physically capable of regularly moving about a construction site including: climbing ladders and stairs, using tools, controls, and equipment, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling, and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds unassisted. A full medical release must be obtained prior to employment.

· High school graduate with completed apprenticeship program or equal required

· Engineering, Construction Management, or Architectural Degree, or equivalent experience
