Outpatient Oncology Dietitian

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for their Outpatient Oncology Program at the Park Avenue Medical Center in Trumbull, CT.   Oncology Dietitian will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to guide and support the patient’s nutrition across the continuum of the cancer experience.  A member of Yale New Haven Health, Park Avenue Medical Center is located ~ 8 miles northwest of Bridgeport Hospital.

The successful candidate will: 

• assess, develop, and implement individualized care plans for patients throughout all stages of their cancer care; 
• provide individualized counseling to patients during infusion as well as in-office consults; 
• facilitate group support classes with interdisciplinary team; 
• collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members/departments to determine, coordinate, and provide medical nutrition therapy;
• perform quality improvement initiatives related to patient care & be outcome focused; and
• function as a preceptor in support of the dietetic internship program.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) (Note: For those seeking registration after 2023, a master’s degree will be required)

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision

 

Credentials Requirement:

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
• Specialty credential in area(s) of focused practice, as applicable, or advanced practice certification (RD-AP/RDN-AP)
