Summary:
We are looking for an Industrial / Process Engineering intern to join Justrite Safety Group's 2024 Summer Internship Program. The internship will be in the Brooksville, FL location for AccuformNMC. This internship will include but not limited to develop and implement process strategies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Breakdown Sheets (JBS), and other work instructions for a manufacturing plant that produces safety identification signs, tags, labels, and displays. The result will be a presentation to management showcasing the work completed, analysis of current manufacturing processes, and recommendations for the future.


Responsibilities
* Develop standard work instructions for a value-stream within manufacturing operations.
o This will include detailed Job Breakdown Sheets and SOPs that describe the steps required to perform tasks and jobs.
o Safety, PPE, setup, machine operation, material handling, and finishing steps should all be considered.
o Pictures and step-by-step procedures need to be included.
* Analyze and test existing manufacturing processes and workflows to determine opportunities for change or improvement.
* Develop new process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.
* Troubleshoot problems associated with the manufacturing process.
* Assist with the design and planning of equipment layout and moves including installation of new capital equipment.
* Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and other Lean Tools.
* Communicate findings to the leadership team.
* Present a finished project that includes work instructions for a complete value-stream, analysis of current processes, breakdown of any changes already made, and recommendations for potential future process changes.

Requirements
* Must be a current Junior or Senior pursuing an undergraduate degree
* 10-week commitment
* Willing to travel to Deerfield, IL or other location for Intern Training Week
* Deliver a comprehensive presentation to management and executives at the end of the summer
